Product Requirements

There are different Double-Take licenses depending on the operating system you are using.  Be sure you have the correct license for your operating system.

Small Business Server Editiona
  • Windows Small Business Server 2003 or 2003 R2
  • Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package 
SSE Replication SSEb
  • Windows Storage Server 2003 or 2003 R2
  • Windows 2000 Powered OS with SAK 2.0 or 2.5
Server Edition
  • Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2 Enterprise or Enterprise x64 Edition
  • Windows 2000 Advanced Server Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
Advanced Edition
  • Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2 Enterprise or Enterprise x64 Edition
  • Windows 2000 Advanced Server Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
  • Any valid operating system which can be used with a Double-Take Server Edition license
Virtual Systems Edition

These operating systems are for the guest operating system.  The host can be any operating system. 

  • Windows 2003 or 2003 R2 Enterprise, Standard or Web Edition
  • Windows 2000 Advanced or Server Edition Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
Itanium Editionc Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition for Itanium-based Systems
Datacenter Edition
  • Windows Server 2003 or 2003 R2 Datacenter or Datacenter x64 Edition or Datacenter for Itanium-based Systems
  • Windows 2000 Datacenter Server Service Pack 4 and the Update Rollup Package
  • Any valid operating system which can be used with a Double-Take Advanced Edition license

a. The Small Business Server Edition license is a replication only license, unless you are using Full-Server Failover
b. There are two SSE (Storage Server Edition) licenses which run on the same operating systems.  The SSE license contains full functionality while the Replication SSE license is limited to replication only.  There is no failover functionality available with the Replication SSE license. 
c. The Itanium Edition does not support Full-Server Failover
