Sophos includes a wide range of components that can be incorporated into custom policies. 

First, the Update Manager keeps all Sophos security software up-to-date by automatically checking the Sophos website.

The Anti-virus and HIPS policy allows you to scan your network for suspicious behavior and root kits, and automatically clean up computers as necessary.

Sophos, also offers a desktop Firewall feature, that blocks all non-essential traffic, and can be configured to fit your policy from the Policies panel.

The Network Access Control, prevents any user not compliant with your conditions, from logging onto the network. This feature is comprised of the NAC Manager and Agent.

Next, Application Control regulates which applications are allowed in your environment.

The Data Control feature monitors and prevents the transfer of sensitive data from your environment, while the Device Control regulates the usage of removable media.

Tamper Protection enables you to prevent unauthorized users from making changes to your Sophos security software.

The new Patch assessment feature assesses your current security patches and helps you determine what issues need to be remediated.

Finally, the new Web Control feature allow you to filter web use by individual users or across your entire network.
