Thank you for coming to view this Productive exclusive on ARCserve D2D r16. In this video, we'll give you a quick walkthrough of some of the key new features included with ARCserve D2D.

First, let’s start with Central Reporting. The Central Protection Manager creates and updates databases with backup and Storage Resource Management metrics. There is an easy-to-use dashboard interface that gives you access to: 

  • Reports
  • Email Alerts
  • Data Trends
  • Resource Utilization
  • Backup Status (Recovery Points)
  • Data Distribution and Reports on ARCserve Backup, which is synced daily

Next, is the Central Virtual Standby feature. Once the virtual standby application is installed and you've imported your nodes, an initial full backup will be created. This backup will then be created on the VMware / Virtual Machine. Subsequent backups will be updated as separate recovery points on that virtual machine. If there is an emergency or one of your sessions crashed, the up-to-date virtual machine is waiting to be applied to that computer, allowing work to continue.

Microsoft Exchange Support is another key new feature in r16. Now, you can use recovery points to look back into individual mail accounts. Recover a particular message or contact, instead of having to restore extensive directories or systems.

D2D r16 now allows you to encrypt all of your backups, preventing those with unauthorized access from viewing or manipulating your company's sensitive data. Set password protection on your data before backing it up, either locally or to the cloud. Choose from Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) -128, -192 or -256 bit encryption.

Finally, Cloud Backup is now offered. You can automatically copy your backed-up files to the cloud by enabling the feature in D2D. Choose from numerous cloud providers, including Amazon and Windows allowing you to save space on your media.
